The Charlotte Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond opened in 1927. The city is now home to one of the nation’s largest banks, Bank of America. Featured here is a 1929 remittance letter to the Charlotte Branch from a bank considerably smaller than Bank of America.
