The Richmond Fed is the headquarters for the Fifth Federal Reserve District, which includes Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and most of West Virginia.

The Charlotte Office provides financial services to depository institutions in the Carolinas, including the distribution of currency and coin to meet the public’s need for cash; check processing; and accounting services. Banking Supervision and Regulation staff promote the safety and soundness of large bank holding companies headquartered in Charlotte, the nation’s second largest financial center, and public programs include economic education, tours and a speakers’ bureau.
