As part of its program to better inform the public about the Federal Reserve System and its central bank functions, The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond invites you to tour its facilities and operations.

 

Richmond Office

Tours and Lobby Exhibits

Tours of the Richmond Bank and Money Museum will be suspended until June 2010 as we renovate our museum and lobby. In addition, Bank tours are temporarily suspended due to several construction projects now underway. We apologize for any inconvenience and welcome you to periodically check this Web site for updated information.

Virtual Money Museum Tour

The Virtual Money Museum shows the history of currency in the United States.

Art Collection

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond has been collecting art since 1975.

Baltimore Office

Tours

Prearranged group tours offered by appointment only. Tours are available to students (high school and college) with a minimum of 5 persons and a maximum of 30. Bank tours take about two hours to complete. For more information or to schedule a tour, please call the Public Affairs Department at 410-576-3387.

What you will see

The general Bank tour takes about one hour to complete, but can be customized based on the special interests of the group. For more information or to schedule a tour, please call the Public Affairs Department at 410-576-3386.

The tour focuses on cash and check processing activities. A video presentation on the functions of the Federal Reserve System is available upon request and can be included with your tour.

Charlotte Office

Tours

Prearranged group tours offered Monday through Thursday, at 9:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Tours are available to students (high school and college), teachers, bankers and community and business organizations with a minimum of 5 persons and a maximum of 45. The general Bank tour takes about one hour to complete. Tours must be scheduled at least one week in advance. What You Will See

Your tour will focus on cash and check processing operations. Following the tour there is a question and answer period and an optional 15-minute video presentation on the functions of the Federal Reserve System.

Lobby Exhibits

The main lobby of the Charlotte Office offers a money exhibit featuring a history of money in the United States from Colonial days to present and includes a display highlighting the gold mining era in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. The lobby is open to the public from 8:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
