Lucia Zapata Griffith is founding principal architect overseeing design and construction for METRO Landmarks in Charlotte, which specializes in design-build projects from historic renovation to new construction. She also holds certification as a LEED professional and is a general contractor and real estate broker.
Griffith previously was partner and principal architect in charge of production and client relations for Architectural Engineering Research & Design. She also was a project architect with Mullinax Wash Architects and principal of Contratistas Luza.
Her industry affiliations include the Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission, the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and the Latin American Chamber of Commerce of Charlotte. She also has been involved with the Charlotte Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the Charlotte East Rotary Club. She has been recognized as the Charlotte Entrepreneur of the Year by Latina Style.
Griffith earned an architecture degree from the Universidad Ricardo Palma in Lima, Peru, and she has completed studies in commercial real estate.
