Robert Hill is president and chief executive officer of South Carolina Bank and Trust Financial Corp. and chief executive officer of South Carolina Bank and Trust, named by Forbes among the “Top 100 Most Trustworthy Companies in the U.S.” in 2009. The corporation is based in Columbia, S.C., and includes South Carolina Bank and Trust, North Carolina Bank and Trust and Community Bank and Trust in Georgia. Hill previously served as chief operating officer and bank president.
His professional accolades include being named a Top Newsmaker by Charlotte Business Journal, South Carolina Outstanding Young Banker of the Year, and a “20 under 40” recipient by The State newspaper in Columbia. Businessweek profiled Hill as one of 98 CEOs under age 40 in the United States and 140 CEOs under 40 in the world who run companies traded publicly on the NASDAQ or New York Stock Exchange.
Hill also has been named a Distinguished Young Alumnus by the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business and an Outstanding Young Alumni by the University of South Carolina Alumni Association. The Citadel School of Business presented him with the Chapman Distinguished Leadership Award. Additionally, he has held leadership roles supporting numerous local organizations.
Hill is a graduate of The Citadel and earned an MBA from the University of South Carolina.
