Brad Schwartz is chief executive officer of Monarch Financial Holdings Inc. and its Monarch Bank subsidiary in Chesapeake, Va. He joined Monarch Bank in 2004 as chief financial and operating officer and was elected CEO in 2009. Schwartz began his career as an examiner with the Virginia Bureau of Financial Institutions and has held other official positions with three other Virginia-based community banks.
Schwartz earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Longwood University and an MBA from the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business. He graduated from the American Bankers Association’s Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University and is a certified public accountant.
Schwartz is a member of the Virginia Association of Community Banks and has served on various committees of the Virginia Bankers Association. He is a member of the board of visitors for Longwood University and serves on the Royal Court for the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival. He is a board member of the Hampton Roads Partnership and a past president and former board member of Virginia Beach Court Appointed Special Advocates.
