A native of Wise County, Virginia, Ms. Clatterbuck attended Virginia Commonwealth University and is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School at the University of Virginia. She joined the Bank's Technical Support Services Department in 1987 as lead software system programmer/analyst, was promoted to software systems analysis and program manager in 1989, and information systems officer in 1992.

Ms. Clatterbuck transferred to the currency technology office in 1993 and was named assistant vice president in 1995. In 1996, she transferred to the Information Technology function, where she was promoted to vice president in 2000. Ms. Clatterbuck was named senior vice president in 2004. Ms. Clatterbuck is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Greater Richmond Technology Council and The Values Institute of America.
