The Reserve Banks maintain comprehensive business continuity plans for their check services customers that will be activated in the event of a business disruption.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's business continuity plans are aligned with those of other Reserve Banks to support continuity of service. If a disaster impacts a Reserve Bank that provides Check Services, financial institutions will be notified regarding the processing of electronic Check 21 forward and return files, legacy forward and return item processing, adjustments, and payor services.
