Before filing a complaint you should make sure you know who is the
primary regulator of your financial institution.
We are the primary federal regulator of state-chartered banks that are members
of the Federal Reserve System and that are headquartered within our district.
Member banks outside of the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. are regulated by one of the other eleven Federal Reserve Banks across the country.
The financial institution you are dealing with may be regulated by one of several federal agencies instead of one of the 12 Federal Reserve Banks.
