Foreclosure Scams

The Federal Reserve System has created a 30-second advertisement which will direct consumers to free resources on avoiding foreclosure scams. These include "5 Tips for Avoiding Foreclosure Scams" and other mortgage foreclosure resources. In mid- April 2009, the began airing in movie theaters across nine U.S. states, including Fifth District states, Maryland and Virginia.
