New Data Tool Available for Fifth District Communities

The Community Data Resource Center is a data repository designed to streamline local community development data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey for each of the Fifth District states and Washington, D.C. Data currently is available for Maryland, District of Columbia, West Virginia, and Virginia with the remaining areas to follow: North Carolina and South Carolina.

The resource center is aimed at providing the most relevant local information to community development practitioners, government agencies, and researchers. Measures are related to demographic, social, housing and economic characteristics and can be used as supporting information for federal and state funding programs and for determining areas of need for programs. Data is offered in a portable document format (PDF) or as a Microsoft Excel file that allows the data to be sorted and manipulated for desired use.
