The North Carolina Housing Finance will feature workshops, continuing education and informal networks with national experts, state housing industry leaders and local practitioners. Keynote speaker Anne Wilson, of Community Housing Works, San Diego, CA, will discuss Solara, the first affordable fully solar-powered and truly green apartment community in California. Breakout sessions will include practical tips for green building in North Carolina, building healthy housing, and incorporating water conservation measures into developments. Other sessions will focus on tax credits, examples of local housing development and preservation, foreclosure mitigation, supportive housing, and reverse mortgages, among other topics.
The North Carolina Affordable Housing Conference is open to all types of community leaders including local and state government leaders, business leaders, economic and community development professionals and non-profit groups that are interested in learning about innovative community and economic growth opportunities.
