Richmond Office, Richmond, Va.
This regional best practices conference highlights innovative programming from around the country working to prevent and end homelessness. It emphasizes best practices to address the needs of the clients and ways to possibly improve Richmond's regional homelessness service offerings.
In summer 2009, the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond convened HR consultants and a diverse group of Virginia community development leaders to develop consensus around five fundamental core competencies, otherwise known as behaviors, attitudes and soft skills, which are displayed by highly contributing community development organization staff, volunteers and board members at all levels from receptionists to CEOs to board presidents. This conference session discusses the competencies and how community development organizations might incorporate them into workforce development, staff recruitment, performance management and staff development.
