The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond will host a special invitation-only program for bank representatives who are interested in learning more about community development financial institutions (CDFIs). This program will be held concurrently with the 2010 Opportunity Finance Network Southeast Regional Meeting on July 19-20.
One panel will discuss some of the key questions that bankers have about partnering with Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) such as:
A second panel of bank examiners will describe the regulator's perspective on bank investments in CDFIs, including criteria for both CRA and safety and soundness examinations. One of the goals of this program is to provide financial institutions with the chance to learn about potentially profitable and CRA-eligible investment opportunities with CDFIs throughout the Southeast region.
