<p>The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Assets Fair is a one-day event that will link 50 to 60 low-to-moderate income individuals and families with free tax preparation and asset building services. The goal is to bring awareness to free tax preparation services, promote the Earned Income Tax Credit and recognize the work of volunteers affiliated with the Greater Richmond Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition. The fair also aims to connect individuals to asset building services related to financial literacy, credit counseling, individual development accounts, housing/shelter, financial assistance, public benefits, health care and banking services.</p><p>The event is sponsored by Virginia Commonwealth University, United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg, and in coordination with the Greater Richmond Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition. This event is also supported by a grant through the Jesse Ball DuPont Foundation.</p>
