Overview

Attendees will learn to build sustainable affordable housing through the development and implementation of a Community Land Trust (CLT). Attendees will have two ways to participate: foundational learning and interactive case studies.

Community Land Trust Session: Moving from Concepts to Foundation
Attendees will learn about the Community Land Trust model. National experts will share key concepts and foundational decisions that are essential to the development and implementation of a CLT in South Carolina. All are encouraged to attend. Attendees who may have been to other intro trainings will be provided a refresher, while new attendees will learn in-depth information about forming a CLT.

Community Land Trust Case Studies: Community Land Trusts in Real Time
Attendees will participate in an interactive session looking at the development of real life Community Land Trust (CLT) models in South Carolina. Various cities, community development organizations and affordable housing stakeholders will be guided through decisions and implementation strategies to help them get their CLTs up and running. All those interested in various CLT models are encouraged to participate. Attendees will leave the session with more than a starting point.
