Overview

The Association of Housing Counselors and the Charleston Area Community Development Corporation will host the first South Carolina Housing Counselor Conference in Charleston August 4th and 5th. Housing counselors, providers, lenders and key community development stakeholders will have an opportunity to learn about emerging trends in the counseling industry as well as network with other key community leaders to discuss strategies to assist existing and future homeowners. Topics will include foreclosure challenges and prevention programs, debt and credit issues, trends in the industry and new SC and federal programs that can help homeowners. The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond Community Development staff will share key information about credit issues and credit scores as housing counselors assist homeowners with making difficult financial decisions.
