The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, in partnership with the Urban Land Institute - Charlotte, the North Carolina Housing Coalition, UNC School of Government and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Housing Partnership, invite you to attend a forum on reclaiming vacant properties. The forum will focus on local and state policy initiatives and redevelopment strategies that help bring vacant properties back to market.
Attendees will hear from national experts about the state of vacant properties in the Carolinas, followed by a policy discussion on what tools local and state governments can utilize to solve their vacant property challenges. The afternoon panels will include discussions from local and regional practitioners on strategies for redeveloping these properties.
Topics for discussion will include code enforcement, land banking, receivership, neighborhood stabilization and financing.
Planners, real estate professionals, non-profit and for-profit developers, local government entities, funders, housing providers, community development organizations, lenders, elected officials and other community stakeholders should plan to attend.
