Kids and Money: A Professional Development Program for K-5 Teachers

Overview

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Charlotte Branch and the North and South Carolina Councils on Economic Education will partner to present this day-long professional development program for K-5 teachers. The program introduces lessons for teaching elementary students about money and decision making using children's literature. Presenters will demonstrate lessons that emphasize active- and collaborative-learning teaching methods that help elementary teachers use children's literature to meet state and national standards in English/Language Arts, Social Studies and Personal Finance. All attendees will receive a free lunch, free lesson plans and six (6) credit renewal points for SC teachers and .6 credit renewal points for NC teachers. There will be other giveaways as well.
