The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is hosting an afternoon program for college students and professors to learn more about the Federal Reserve System, monetary policy and the state of the economy.
Attendees will hear from Fed economists, policy makers and other experts about current economic conditions, the implementation of the Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation of 2010, and the course of U.S. monetary policy.
There is no cost to attend this event. Registration is required.
Lunch will be provided. Registration for the onsite event is limited to 10 undergraduate students and one faculty member from each university. Professors are responsible for registering all participants in advance.
If you are unable to join us in person for the event, you have the option to participate and interact by webinar from 1:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Registration for the webinar is limited to one access link per professor. Please note that in addition to needing a computer and internet connection to access the meeting, participants will need to call in to a teleconference bridge to hear the presenters. Additional access instructions will be provided after registration.
This event will be preceded by a companion program in Charlotte, NC on September 8, 2011, which will feature a presentation on the prolonged labor market weakness and prospects for recovery, and a panel discussion about the Richmond Fed’s views on housing finance policy, and price stability and monetary policy.
