Hints for a Winning Entry

 

Checklist

Use the following checklist to ensure a clean and easy to read letter:

  • Correct sentence structure, punctuation and spelling should be used throughout the entry
  • Paragraphs and pictures are well organized
  • Effective transitions are used between paragraphs or frames
  • Analysis is clearly presented
  • Argument follows a logical progression
  • Strong evidence is used to support your analysis
  • Cover or title page includes required information
  • First page of entry includes title without student's name
  • Page numbers are on all text pages
  • Bibliography and parenthetical references or footnotes follow a consistent style (see a teacher or librarian for a reference guide)
  • Entry can be easily read and clearly understood.

Footnotes & Bibliography

Use footnotes or parenthetical references for all direct quotations and important facts. See your teacher for a guide on how to format your footnotes and bibliography. Be sure to include citations of interviews.
