The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond has promoted Becky Bareford to senior vice president with responsibility for the organization’s human resources function. The appointment was effective March 15.
“During my 16-year career with the Federal Reserve, I have been fortunate to have had opportunities to work with so many great people in a variety of areas within our Bank,” Bareford said. “I look forward to this new challenge, especially the opportunity to serve with my colleagues at the Richmond Fed and across the Federal Reserve System to achieve our mission.”
Bareford, who joined the Richmond Fed in 1998 as a financial analyst, has been a vice president in the Bank’s HR department since 2012, with responsibility for the Federal Reserve’s systemwide payroll operation. She also has held leadership positions in the Bank’s accounting, payroll and procurement departments, and was named an assistant vice president and officer of the Bank in 2009.
“Becky has built a strong record for achieving business results and continuously improving service levels to meet customer needs,” said Richmond Fed President Jeffrey M. Lacker. “She brings a strong financial and operational focus to her new position and has broad experience in successfully leading Federal Reserve System projects.”
Prior to joining the Richmond Fed, Bareford worked in the private sector in financial management roles. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Virginia Tech.
