James T. Brady is managing director-Mid-Atlantic of Ballantrae International, a management consulting firm that focuses on developing business strategies.
Brady served from 1995 to 1998 as secretary of Maryland’s Department of Business and Economic Development. Before taking that post, Brady worked for the international accounting and consulting firm Arthur Andersen, including 17 years as managing partner of offices on Long Island, N.Y., and in Baltimore.
Brady’s numerous community and civic roles include co-chairing Maryland gubernatorial transition teams in 1994 and 2002. He also chaired the B&O Railroad Museum board and was president of the CenterStage board. He has been involved with the Baltimore Council on Foreign Affairs, the Maryland Humanities Council, the Maryland Public Policy Institute, the Educational Opportunity Program of Baltimore and the Adventure Sports Center International of Garrett County, Md. The World Trade Center Institute presented him with the Governor’s Leadership Award in 2005.
His professional and industry affiliations include Constellation Energy Group, McCormick & Co., T. Rowe Price and NexCen Brands. He frequently presents to professional groups on issues relating to corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
Brady earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Iona College.
