Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond since 2008
William Grant is chairman, president and chief executive officer of First United Bank & Trust of Oakland, Md. The bank serves the four westernmost Maryland counties and the four contiguous West Virginia counties. Grant previously served as executive vice president for retail serves and headed the bank’s trust department.
Grant’s professional affiliations include past chairman of the Maryland Bankers Association and The Greater Cumberland Committee. He is involved with the American Bankers Association’s Community Bankers Council, West Virginia Wesleyan College, the University System of Maryland Foundation, Leadership Maryland, the Mineral, Allegany and Garrett Counties Community Foundation and the Garrett County Memorial Hospital Foundation. His community outreach also includes activities with Southern Garrett High School, as well as singing with the Garrett Choral Society.
He is a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and the Duquesne University School of Law. He also completed studies with the Northwestern Graduate Trust School and Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He is a certified financial planner.
