Michelle Mapp

Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond since 2017

Michelle Mapp is CEO of South Carolina Community Loan Fund (SCCLF) in Charleston, South Carolina. She is responsible for the organization’s overall management, including implementing the strategic plan, developing annual work plans, overseeing financing and development services, facilitating community education programs, marketing programs, and securing funding for operations and financing.

Mapp has more than 20 years of executive experience in program management. Prior to joining SCCLF, she worked as a BRAC operations research analyst, high school math teacher, and as a consultant to Fortune 500 companies on supply chain and transportation planning solutions in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta, Georgia. Mapp is a Joint Base Charleston Honorary Commander, a Leadership Charleston alumna, Furman University Diversity Leadership Institute alumna, Urban Land Institute South Carolina Sustainable Leadership Initiative alumna, a 2012 executive finalist for the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Influential Women in Business and a Liberty Fellow. She serves on the board of directors for the South Carolina Association of Nonprofits, South Carolina Association of Community Economic Development, South Carolina Community Capital Alliance and the Tri-County Cradle to Career Collaborative.

Mapp holds a Master’s of Public Administration from the College of Charleston, a Master’s of Engineering Management from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Analysis with a concentration in Industrial Engineering from Clemson University. She is certified by the National Development Council as a Housing Development Finance Professional. Mapp has been with SCCLF since 2006.
