Becky C. Bareford

Becky Bareford is the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond’s senior vice president responsible for the Bank’s human resources, diversity and inclusion, and finance functions, in addition to having responsibility for the Federal Reserve System’s payroll and national procurement operations.

As senior vice president since 2014, Becky Bareford serves as executive sponsor for the Board of Directors Committee on Human Resources and is a member of the Federal Reserve System’s Subcommittee on Human Resources, a body of senior officers from the Reserve Banks, the Office of Employee Benefits and the Board of Governors that is accountable for Federal Reserve human capital strategies and risk management. Bareford also serves as a member of the Federal Reserve System’s Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI) Council.

Since 2009, Bareford has held leadership positions in the Bank’s accounting, procurement, human resources and payroll functions, including serving on the leadership team to establish the Federal Reserve System’s National Procurement Office. She joined the Federal Reserve in 1998 as a financial analyst.

Bareford is a former board member of the Virginia Business Leadership Network. As the Bank’s OMWI director, Bareford leads the organization’s vision for and strategy of the Office of Diversity & Inclusion, the Diversity and Inclusion Alliance, and the Bank’s Employee Resource Networks. Bareford co-sponsors the Ability Beyond the Label (ABLe) ERN, focused on raising awareness of the value differently abled individuals bring to the organization and creating the environment and opportunities for differently abled individuals to work at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. 

Bareford is a native of Virginia and earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Virginia Tech in 1996.
