Karen Harris

Karen Harris has been serving as the Executive Director of God's Storehouse since March of 2012. In 2009, she began volunteering at God's Storehouse when she was laid off from Nortel, a telecommunications company in Research Triangle Park. Even after finding full-time employment in February 2010, she continued working with God's Storehouse by co-chairing the first Eat Out to Help Out. Her work with God's Storehouse involves fund raising, grant writing, marketing, volunteer management, facilities maintenance and many other duties. Every day is different.

Karen is a graduate of East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and has lived in Danville for seventeen years with her husband, Matt, a Danville native. They have one dog, Braden. She is an active member at First Baptist Church, is a deacon and serves as chair of the Hospitality Committee. She serves on the board of Third Chance Ministries, a nonprofit ministry that aids Grace & Main, a ministry to the homeless and near homeless. Also, she is president of the board and an active member of the Dan River Nonprofit Network, an organization that exists to facilitate connections and provide tools to enable nonprofit organizations to be successful.
