Conference Recap
2024 DivEc Conference
How a Career in Economics Can Turn Your Passion Into Impact
More than 140 college students attended the 2024 Diverse Economics Conference (DivEc) where this year’s theme was How a Career in Economics Can Turn Your Passion Into Impact. The conference featured keynote speaker William M. Rodgers III, vice president and director of the Institute for Economic Equity at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, who shared insights into his personal career journey.
Students from 40 different universities were represented including Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia State, University of Richmond and North Carolina A&T. They heard from a diverse panel of professionals who have leveraged their economics education and experience into uniquely successful careers within business, community and economic development, and agricultural and environmental technology.
Attendees also networked with professionals working in the field and learned about opportunities for undergraduate students and early career talent at the Richmond Fed.
The DivEc Conference was hosted by the Richmond Fed in partnership with the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond and the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University.
