Changing Cities: What’s Next for Charlotte?

Many cities and neighborhoods experience changes in their economic status over time. These changes are slow-moving and can take decades to unfold and become noticeable. While every city develops in a unique way, there are several common factors that drive the rise, decline, and evolution of cities.

Join Richmond Fed Senior Policy Economist Santiago Pinto on May 31 as he explains how different households and businesses decide where to locate in cities and how public policies can influence those decisions. A panel of local experts, including Brian Collier from the Foundation for the Carolinas, Jeff Michael from the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute and Charles Thomas from the Knight Foundation will also discuss the opportunities and challenges facing neighborhoods in Charlotte today.
