Overview

This all day forum will coincide with the publication of Harvesting Opportunity: The Power of Regional Food System Investments to Transform Communities, a book that focuses on regional food systems as a means for enhancing economic opportunity. The publication is a series of case studies on regional food systems and the link to economic growth. The forum will serve as a book launch with expert speakers who will focus on the economic impacts or regional food systems, jobs and businesses associated with food systems, and the investment aspects.  This program aligns with similar events around the country being held by other Reserve Banks.

 

Audience

Community development and economic development practitioners; small farms and agricultural businesses in low and moderate income areas; food hubs; and policy makers and academics from the rural regions of Central Appalachia, including Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
