The Bailey Conference, named in honor of the first African-American county agricultural extension agent in North Carolina, Neil Alexander Bailey, builds upon the commonality of culture and race as an engagement tool for inter-generational individuals in the Agricultural and Rural Community Development fields.
This conference is a time to bring together like-minded stakeholders in an effort to create strategic and collaborative solutions for North Carolina communities. The Bailey Conference will explore the intersection of community development, community planning, and food system development with an African-American Community focus in both rural and urban spaces. The overall goal of this conference is to identify available resources to build communities and retain black growers in this state.
