The Richmond Fed's Economic Education team took a busload of teachers to "Conversation with the Chairman: A Teacher Town Hall Meeting" at the Federal Reserve Board. The event, a videoconference held August 7, offered teachers from around the country the opportunity to talk about financial education with Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke.

Each Federal Reserve District sent a teacher or two to Washington, D.C., for the event. The Richmond Fed, whose district includes Washington, had the opportunity to bring more teachers from the region and filled a bus in Baltimore with teachers from Washington, Maryland and even nearby Pennsylvania.

After the event ended, some of the teachers who were invited to the program by the Richmond Fed talked about the experience, what they learned and what they planned to take from the event into their own classrooms.
