Richmond Fed President Tom Barkin made back-to-back visits to university campuses to talk about current issues in monetary policy and the economy, appearing at events in North Carolina and Massachusetts.

Barkin spoke February 19 on a panel discussing “New Monetary Policy Frameworks: Why Now?” in an event presented by the Duke University Center for International and Global Studies. The other panelists included Sarah Bloom Raskin, a former member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors who now is a Duke fellow.

The next day, Barkin was at Harvard University, his alma mater, for a seminar at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. He spoke with economist Megan Greene, a Kennedy School fellow, and answered questions from the audience of students, faculty and members of the community.
