Investment Connection Pitch Session Focuses on Rural Projects

The Richmond Fed’s Community Development team will host an Investment Connection Live! program this fall that focuses on projects serving rural communities and aligns with the 2021 Investing in Rural America Conference.

Investment Connection helps nonprofits, economic development organizations, funders and bankers establish relationships that can lead to collaborations that meet community needs. Participating organizations get to share a specific initiative that might meet a particular financial institution’s funding goals, resulting in an impactful partnership.

During the Oct. 4 live, virtual pitch session, a select group of community organizations will present their CRA-eligible proposals to an audience of potential funders, including banks, foundations, CDFIs and other institutions.

The fall Investment Connection program also serves as the kickoff event for the Bank’s 2021 Rural America Week (Oct. 4–6), a three-day rollout of live and recorded web-based content that will culminate with the Investing in Rural America Conference on Oct 7.  Due to the program’s ties to this year’s conference, the lending, investment and service opportunities presented during this program will span the Fifth District and will focus in particular on projects that serve rural communities throughout the District, comprised of Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, D.C. and parts of West Virginia.

Applications Being Accepted Through July 30

Organizations with potentially CRA-eligible, rural-focused projects are invited to submit applications through July 30 to the Investment Connection Application Portal.

Potential Funders Can Register for Pitch Session Today

While projects for the October event are being selected, potential funders can view other CRA-eligible projects in the Funders Portal.

More details about Rural America Week and the Investing in Rural America Conference will be shared soon. Individuals interested in the Investment Connection Live! Pitch Session can register today.
