Mehdi Beyhaghi

Senior Financial Economist

Mehdi Beyhaghi is a senior financial economist in the Supervision, Regulation and Credit department. His work is mainly focused on the supervision and regulation of large financial institutions and economic research. His main area of research is the interplay of central banks, banking institutions and businesses. Beyhaghi is also a co-organizer of research seminars at the Richmond Fed’s supervision department and the chairperson of Global Connections, an employee resource network.

Prior to joining the Richmond Fed in 2018, Beyhaghi was an assistant professor of finance at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He was also a doctoral intern at the Bank of Canada’s department of financial stability.
