What is a web feed? A web feed is an XML-based document containing links, headlines and a brief synopsis of content that's been added to a web site. Feeds are subscribed to using online readers called aggregators, which can display the contents of multiple web feeds on a single page. Web feeds can also be used for "syndication," which is republishing content on another web site.
Why would I want to subscribe to a web feed? A web feed allows you to receive news and other information you want from a web site without having to check that site over and over again for updates.
How do I receive your web feeds? First, you need a feed reader, also called an aggregator. Links to some popular readers/aggregators are provided on this page. Once you've obtained a reader/aggregator, click on one of the buttons above labeled "RSS" or "ATOM." The page displayed will contain web code, but just copy that page address or URL into your reader/aggregator and it will automatically retrieve and display the feed's content.
What's the difference between "RSS" and "ATOM"? RSS stands for "Real Simple Syndication." RSS scripting language is compatible with the majority of readers/aggregators available on the web today. ATOM is an alternative format that provides the same web feed content.
What's a "PODCAST"? Podcasting is a method of publishing audio and video content via the web. You can subscribe to podcast feeds in the same way you would our other web feeds. Our podcasts are in the MP3 audio format, which can be played by any digital audio player.
