Omar G. Jorge is the CEO of Compare Foods and founded Aurora Grocery Group, a group of independent Latino-owned supermarkets. He has focused much of his work on bringing healthy, affordable food to underserved neighborhoods.

Before joining the family grocery business, he worked as an attorney in New York, helping businesses with real estate, contracts and immigration matters.

Jorge holds leadership roles with FMI, the Industry Association, the North Carolina Retail Merchants Association, University of North Carolina Charlotte’s Belk College of Business and the Charlotte Executive Leadership Council. 

He graduated from St. John’s University and received his legal degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
