Dr. Susan Mims

President and CEO

Dogwood Health Trust

Dr. Susan Mims is President and CEO of Dogwood Health Trust, a $2 billion private foundation dedicated to improving the health and well-being of Western North Carolina through investments in housing, education, economic opportunity, and health and wellness.

Previously, Mims served as vice president for Children’s Services at Mission Health and chaired the Department of Community and Public Health at UNC Health Sciences with Mountain Area Health Education Center. She also served as medical director of the Buncombe County Department of Health.

Mims graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Georgia and earned a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina.

She attained board certified certifications in pediatrics, internal medicine, and preventive medicine.
