Lyn McDermid

Federal Reserve System Chief Information Officer

Lyn McDermid is the Federal Reserve System Chief Information Officer.

In this role, McDermid oversees the Federal Reserve System IT strategy, IT investment and spending, and enterprise information security. She also directs the management of national IT operations, project services, and enterprise architecture and standards.

Prior to joining the Fed, McDermid was senior vice president and chief information officer of Dominion Energy, a Richmond-based Fortune 500 company. She also served as chair of the Board of Directors for the Richmond Fed. She joined the Richmond Fed as the chief information officer in 2013.

McDermid currently serves on an IT advisory committee for Harvard University, as well as on the Board of Directors of ChildFund International.

McDermid earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Mary Baldwin College and her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Richmond.
