Carrie Cook
Carrie Cook is the Vice President of Community Development at the Richmond Fed and also serves as the Community Affairs Officer for the Bank. In these roles, she leads the community development strategy and programming across the fifth district (SC, NC, VA, WV, MD, DC). She provides insights on economic conditions and issues affecting low- and moderate-income communities with a focus on capital and credit access and workforce participation.
Prior to joining the Richmond Fed, Cook served as the founding executive director of GreenLight Fund Charlotte, launching a national venture philanthropy model that promotes economic mobility for low-income communities. She also previously served in vice president roles for economic growth and government affairs at the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, in addition to serving as a regional liaison to the late U.S. Senator Kay Hagan. Cook has been widely recognized for her leadership with honors including Charlotte-Mecklenburg Woman of the Year, World Economic Forum Global Shaper, and Harvey Gantt Distinguished Community Leader.
Cook earned her bachelor's degree in communications from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
