Illakkia Ranjani

Illakkia Ranjani is a research associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Ranjani graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in econometrics and world literature, minoring in mathematics. Her research interests include urban economics, labor economics, and economic mobility.

Ranjani assists the Richmond Fed’s regional economists on various research initiatives as well as with their policy and outreach work, with a primary focus on supporting the Survey of Community College Outcomes. She also helps write and conduct data analysis for Bank presentations and publications as well as contributes to research on workforce, rural areas, and other community development topics.

Previously, Ranjani was a policy analyst at the East-West Gateway Council of Governments in St. Louis, Missouri. She also interned with the Spurlock Museum of World Cultures at UIUC and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland.
