Lillian Zhu is a research associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Zhu graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in economics and mathematics. Her research interests include education, inequality, and labor.

As a first-year associate, Zhu has collaborated with several economists at the Richmond Fed. She has worked with John Bailey Jones on his research relating to racial disparities in elderly medical spending and Grey Gordon on his projects involving higher education.
