District of Columbia
Payroll employment in the District of Columbia increased by 400 jobs (0.1 percent) in January. The unemployment rate increased 0.1 percentage point to 5.0 percent.
Maryland
Maryland payroll employment decreased by 6,800 jobs (0.2 percent) in January. The unemployment rate rose 0.1 percentage point to 2.3 percent.
North Carolina
Total payroll employment in North Carolina increased by 11,600 jobs (0.2 percent) in January. The unemployment rate fell 0.1 percentage point to 3.5 percent.
South Carolina
South Carolina payroll employment gained 9,200 jobs (0.4 percent) in January. The unemployment rate remained at 3.0 percent.
Virginia
Total payroll employment in Virginia decreased by 8,700 jobs (0.2 percent) in January. The unemployment rate remained at 3.0 percent.
West Virginia
West Virginia payroll employment increased by 1,200 jobs (0.2 percent) in January. The unemployment rate remained at 4.3 percent.
