District of Columbia


Payroll employment in the District of Columbia increased by 400 jobs (0.1 percent) in April. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.2 percent.


Maryland


Maryland payroll employment increased by 7,800 jobs (0.3 percent) in April. The unemployment rate has risen 0.1 percentage point from March to 2.6 percent.


North Carolina


Payroll employment in North Carolina increased by 10,200 jobs (0.2 percent) in April. The unemployment rate remained steady at 3.5 percent.


South Carolina


Payroll employment in South Carolina increased by 8,100 jobs (0.3 percent) in April. The unemployment rate increased slightly to 3.2 percent.


Virginia


Payroll employment in Virginia increased by 3,400 jobs (0.1 percent) in April. The unemployment rate edged down 0.1 percentage point to a rate of 2.8 percent.


West Virginia


West Virginia payroll employment decreased by 400 jobs (0.1 percent) in April. The unemployment rate remained flat over the month at 4.3 percent.
