Mark Bils is the Hazel Fyfe Professor of Economics at the University of Rochester. He has been a long-term consultant in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond since 2021. 

Bils is a fellow of the Econometric Society and a member of the Steering Committee of the National Bureau of Economic Research Economic Fluctuations and Growth Program.  He is on the Board of Editors for the Journal of Human Capital and has served as editor for the Journal of Political Economy.

Bils' research covers numerous topics in macroeconomics, including growth, business cycles, and unemployment.
