Spencer Cooper-Ohm
Spencer Cooper-Ohm is a research associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Cooper-Ohm graduated from the University of Iowa with bachelor’s degrees in economics and English creative writing. His research interests include real estate economics, health economics, econometrics, and empirical legal studies.
As a second-year associate, Cooper-Ohm collaborates with several economists at the Richmond Fed. He is working with Thomas Hasenzagl on projects quantifying the distortionary effects and inherent non-assessability of land value taxes, as well as using the production function approach to estimate aggregate firm markups and returns to scale. He also maintains a bank of high-frequency economic data for Nicholas Trachter and Chen Yeh.
