Boyan Jovanovic is a professor of economics at New York University. He has been a long-term consultant in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond since 2013. 

Jovanovic is an elected fellow of the Econometric Society and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He received the inaugural Robert E. Lucas, Jr. Prize in 2017 and the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research in 2019.

Jovanovic has published extensively in the fields of industrial organization and macroeconomics. He has joint work with Richmond Fed economist Zhu Wang.
