Katrina Mullen
Katrina Mullen is a senior managing editor for the Research Department's publications team. Mullen serves as managing editor for Econ Focus, where she also fact-checks, copy edits, and serves as a contributing writer. She also manages some of the department's other publications including Regional Matters and Community College Insights as well as fact-checks and copy edits President Barkin's essays and speeches. Previously, she was managing editor of the Macro Minute blog and the Working Paper series.
Before joining the Richmond Fed in 2020, Mullen was a marketing and communications specialist at an engineering firm, where she copy edited and assisted in designing proposals, handouts and articles. She also managed communication initiatives and social media for the firm's Mid-Atlantic region. Previously, she served as a reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Mullen holds a bachelor's degree in multimedia journalism and political science from Virginia Tech and a public administration certificate from the University of Virginia.
