District of Columbia
Total payroll employment in the District of Columbia declined by 600 jobs (0.1 percent) in April. The unemployment rate increased by 0.2 percentage points to 5.8 percent.
Maryland
Total payroll employment in Maryland increased by 2,300 jobs (0.1 percent) in April. The unemployment rate ticked up to 3.1 percent.
North Carolina
Total payroll employment in North Carolina grew robustly in April, with 18,100 jobs added (0.4 percent). The unemployment rate remained unchanged at 3.7 percent.
South Carolina
Total payroll employment in South Carolina increased by 6,800 jobs (0.3 percent) in April. The unemployment rate is currently at 4.2 percent, increasing slightly by 0.1 percentage point.
Virginia
Total payroll employment in Virginia increased by 500 jobs (0.0 percent) in April. The unemployment rate edged up slightly to 3.3 percent.
West Virginia
Total payroll employment in West Virginia increased by 100 jobs (0.0 percent) in April. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.8 percent.
