Employment in D.C. rose by 1,100 jobs (0.1 percent) in December. The unemployment rate increased 0.1 percentage point to 4.7 percent.
Employment in Maryland decreased by 200 jobs (0.0 percent) in December. The unemployment rate moved down 0.3 percentage point to 4.0 percent.
North Carolina employment increased by 5,400 jobs (0.1 percent) in December. The unemployment rate remained at 3.9 percent.
South Carolina lost 3,100 jobs (0.1 percent) in December. The unemployment rate remained at 3.3 percent.
Employment in Virginia increased by 100 jobs (0.0 percent) in December. The unemployment rate inched up 0.2 percentage point to 3.0 percent.
West Virginia employment decreased by 9,700 jobs (1.4 percent) in December. The unemployment rate remained at 4.1 percent.
