District of Columbia
Payroll employment in the District of Columbia declined by 1,300 jobs (0.2 percent) in June. The unemployment rate edged up to 5.4 percent.
Maryland
Maryland payroll employment increased by 5,600 jobs (0.2 percent) in June. The unemployment rate rose 0.1 percentage point from May to 2.8 percent.
North Carolina
Payroll employment in North Carolina increased 23,100 jobs (0.5 percent) in June. The unemployment rate remained constant at 3.6 percent.
South Carolina
Payroll employment in South Carolina increased 6,900 jobs (0.3 percent) in June. The unemployment rate increased to 3.6 percent.
Virginia
Payroll employment in Virginia increased by 15,000 jobs (0.4 percent) in June. The unemployment rate was unchanged at a rate of 2.7 percent.
West Virginia
West Virginia payroll employment decreased by 1,400 jobs (0.2 percent) in June. The unemployment rate declined by 0.1 percentage point over the month to 4.1 percent.
