District of Columbia
Payroll employment in the District of Columbia increased by only 100 jobs (0.0 percent) in April. The unemployment rate declined 0.1 percentage point to 6.2 percent.
Maryland
Payroll employment in Maryland increased by 2,800 jobs (0.1 percent) in April. The unemployment rate ticked up slightly to 4.4 percent.
North Carolina
Payroll employment in North Carolina increased by 16,000 (0.3 percent) in April. The unemployment rate remained at 3.7 percent.
South Carolina
Payroll employment in South Carolina increased by 5,000 jobs (0.2 percent) during April. The unemployment rate is currently 4.8 percent, decreasing slightly by 0.1 percentage point.
Virginia
Payroll employment in Virginia increased by 600 jobs (0.0 percent) in April. The unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.8 percent.
West Virginia
Payroll employment in West Virginia increased by 1,300 jobs (0.2 percent) in April. The unemployment rate ticked down to 4.4 percent.
