My research interests are in consumer finance and demographic economics. I have studied various household financial decisions and am currently researching the relationship between human capital investments and household financial portfolios.

Professional Experience

Urvi Neelakantan is a senior policy economist in the Research Department. Neelakantan joined the Richmond Fed in 2010 after working as an assistant professor of consumer finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently on leave at the Reserve Bank of India's Center for Advanced Financial Research and Learning.
